Hello. My name is Robert Pound and I am a product technologist for Quest. This video will walk through the user interface and Toad for SAP Solutions. I have Toad for SAP open on the screen, and at the top, we have our traditional File menu, which has all your features and functionalities, your options, your views, et cetera. This File menu will expand depending on what you have opened in the tool.
Below that is the Ribbon Bar. These are the commonly used functions and features available to you in the tool. They are put here for your convenience since they are the most commonly used features of the tool. And in the tool, we have the two views you will primarily use. This is the Connection Manager and the Object Explorer. If you do not see these in the tool, if they've been inadvertently closed, you can come to Views and choose Connection Manager and Object Explorer, and those will appear in the tool.
When working with the views in the tool now, you can resize them and move them around as you see fit. So I'm going to add in another view, Code Snippets. That's always helpful. So we have Code Snippets here on the right, and if I wanted to move that I could simply click and hold and drag it around the tool. So you can see the different areas where we can dock this, to the side, in the middle, at the bottom, et cetera.
You can also click and drag and simply drop it, and then have it as a floating window. You can resize it as you see fit. And we can also put it back to where it originally was here in the side. And you can also pin and unpin to hide them. So for instance, if I choose the push pin, it will auto hide, and then when I hover over it, it'll be there for my convenience when I need to use it.
And lastly, to affect the layout of the tool, we can come to Tools, Configuration Wizard. What this will do is walk us through the steps when it first installed Toad for SAP solutions. It presented this to you as well, so this, again, depending on what form factor you're used to, you can set up the tool to look similar to Microsoft's Query Analyzer, SQL Navigator, default or custom. You can look make it look like Toad for Oracle. And now we'll more resemble Toad for Oracle if you're used to that sort of scenario.
And that's all I had to share for Toad for SAP Solutions, walking through the user interface. Hopefully, that helped you understand a little bit more about the user interface and how to navigate the tool.
