Hello. My name is Robert Pound, and I'm a product technologist for Quest. This video will cover, how do I get help if I believe I'm having an issue with the tool or the platform? One option is to search through support.quest.com or toadworld.com to find out more product information or more knowledge-based articles, et cetera. You can also open up a ticket with support and create a support bundle, and that's the option that we'll be talking about today.
So before we get started in the tool itself, the first thing you'll want to do is ensure that you have a support case opened up. So if we go to support.quest.com, you can choose Contact Support. So from here, you would click Submit Request. And then, you would interact with the support team to get a case ID.
Now, if you're having a problem with the tool-- specifically with SQL that's being run in Toad-- you may want to create a trace file. So you can come to Tools. And execute trace. And choose either output to a window or to a file. I've already done a file.
So once you have the trace file run, you can click the To File again to stop. And then Show Log File to ensure that it's actually recorded something. When creating a support bundle, you can actually add the trace file to the support bundle.
So to create the support bundle, we'll come to Help and choose Support Bundle. And it's letting me know that it has found a trace file. And do I want to add it to the support bundle? And yes, I do.
And I do not have Outlook set up in Toad SAP Solutions on my system. If you did, it would automatically open up Outlook. If you do not, however, you can simply choose File, and Save file. And this will save the support bundle as a zip file. And then, you can move it at your discretion.
And here in the bundle, at the top, it's letting us know that you need to put the case ID in the subject line. Otherwise, it will be declined. And the support bundle has information on your system, on your database, on Toad itself. So that way, the support staff can better assist you isolate the problem.
