Hello. My name is Matthew Vinton. I'm a Strategic Systems Consultant with Quest. And today I'm going to demonstrate the ability to use an external file and use that information to filter the information that goes into reports in Enterprise Reporter 3.1.
So in Enterprise Reporter, filters are how we control the information that is included in a report. Sometimes it's really simple to choose the items we wish to filter on. For instance, in this report, Domain Accounts, if I wanted to filter on a specific domain, I have two values to choose from. I could choose one or both, hit add, and filter on them.
But let's say I want to do something a little bit more complex. I have a report here called Active Directory Permissions that will return information on what permissions have been delegated to Active Directory. And what I'd like to do is I'd like to filter on a list of accounts that are service accounts, that are accounts that are running services on member servers.
So that'd be kind of complicated to go and search through and find each and every one of those accounts. Instead, I produced a text file, very simple text file here, that has the accounts listed. I've actually produced this file using Enterprise Reporter. We have the ability to export in text format. And now I can use this and use this to filter the information in this report.
To do that, I simply click this button to import the values from a file. Double click and you can see it adds those to the list. I hope this has been helpful. For more information on Enterprise Reporter, please go to quest.com/enterprise-reporter. Thanks so much.
