Hi. This is Vance, Quadrotech's Nova engagement manager. Today, I want to talk to you about how our customers are using Nova's lifecycle management to save money on their license costs. Now more than ever, companies are looking for ways to save money. In this economy, budgets are tight and any opportunity to cut expenses is welcomed.
Companies are using the insights they receive from Nova to analyze their Microsoft 365 license spend and take action to reduce costs. Let's take a look at an example. The license optimisation report seen here provides insight into your organization's license usage and trends. The report pulls data from several Microsoft 365 data sources into a single, easy to view report.
We can start answering the two major questions related to licensing. First, are we over spending on licenses? And second, our users over license? We're able to get valuable insights into users here who are good candidates to downgrade. In this case, the users in this report are assigned an E3 license and based on their usage, are good candidates to drop to a lower license here. In this case an E1.
We can also see users who are inactive with their powerBI license, and this is important because the powerBI license is an expensive ad on license. And if these users are not actively taking advantage of that, we can reclaim that and save money. The report also gives insight into license allocation by department. So we get our departmental breakdown, license assignment over time, shared mailboxes that have a license, as well as more information on user licenses and the IdLe License Count.
We recently started working with a large customer that has over 50,000 mailboxes and they were able to find significant savings by looking at the license shared mailbox in the section here. In their case, they found that over 500 shared mailboxes had a license assigned, and that's important because a shared mailbox doesn't need a license if it's below 50 gigabytes in size. And the report showed them that all of the 500 shared mailboxes were well below the 50 gigabyte limit. They can see substantial savings by removing the licenses from those mailboxes.
