Hello. Welcome to this Change Auditor video demonstration. My name is Jim Gibson and I am one of the presales consultants here at Quest.
In this video, I will be showing you the new GDPR reports in the 7.0.1 release. As per normal, you can view all the recent changes in this latest update on the Start page of the Change Auditor client or in the Release Notes online. So let's get started.
From the Change Auditor client, select the Searches tab. Here you can browse the search restructure and focus on the regulatory compliance section, and you will see the new section added, GDPR. There are over 190 built-in reports that have been added to help you assess your GDPR compliance, and we have grouped these into easy to understand section headings, such as Active Directory, Microsoft SQL, Windows, and Windows File System.
You will also see that we have included the GDPR article number within the title. In this demonstration, I will be focusing on Active Directory and the users and groups. And I will be using the GDPR 32 critical group membership changes in the last 30 days.
As you can see from the results displayed, we can see there has been a member added to a critical enterprise group. And as normal with Change Auditor, we provide you with the five W's-- so who made the change, in this case, ADM Admin; when the change occurred, including the date, the time down to the second; where the change occurred, so on DC 1; and the origin or workstation, including the IP address. We provide the event details in an easy to read format so you can see that, in this case, Rogue Admin was added to the critical enterprise group Domain Admins.
We also provide the from and to value.
Now there is also one more W-- the why, or in this case, the comments. Selecting Comments, this allows you to append comments to an event, which can then be later specified as search criteria to retrieve all the events that contain a specific comment or keyword.
On certain events we can also add the restore value. By selecting this option, we are able to revert the changes to the group membership from within Change Auditor, thus ensuring that only the most trusted users are a member of the critical enterprise groups. Remember, when using the restore value, Change Auditor will also capture this as an event, so you will want to ensure that the Comments field has been updated as well.
This concludes the demonstration of Change Auditor and the new GDPR report. If you would like more information, you can visit us online at the URL listed on the screen. Thank you and goodbye.
