Hello and welcome to this demonstration of Entra Device Migration from Quest. When you first log in, you'll be taken to the Entra Device Migration wizard. The first thing you're going to do is select your source and target environments. Once you've made your selections, click Next. The next thing you're going to do is give your source a name. And then give your target a name. You're going to connect to your cloud environment.
Next, name your workflow. You want this to be descriptive so you know exactly what that workflow is doing. In this case, I'm migrating my workstations to Entra, so we're going to call this Entra workstation migration. Next, we're going to upload CSV files for users, groups, and devices. You can find scripts to obtain this information over in the Entra Device User Guide under CSV import file scripts. Once you've run all your scripts, click, download example, and then enter your data in the appropriate columns in the spreadsheet. Next, upload your files for users, groups, and computers.
After we've uploaded all our CSV data, we need to build a bulk enrollment token using Windows Configuration Editor so we can enter that information in our Microsoft Entra ID Join Profile. When prompted to do so in the Entra Device Migration wizard, click create New Microsoft Entra ID Join Profile. The first thing you're going to do is give your profile a name, and then you're going to tell it the name of the bulk enrollment package file. Making sure you have the extension PPKJ, you're going to verify it's going to the correct target environment. You have the option of keeping the original device name or you can change the device name based off of the bulk enrollment token package that we configured previously.
And finally, you're going to put in your source credentials if that device is currently joined to active directory or hybrid joined with Entra. Down the bottom, you have the option to perform a pre-flight check validation. The final two options have to do with intune and autopilot. You're going to check the box that says autopilot/intune intune cleanup if this device is currently joined to autopilot or intune. And if you would like this device enrolled in intune in the target environment, check the box next to enroll in intune management. Once everything looks good, go ahead and click Next. This will create a new Microsoft Entra ID Join Profile. Now that we've verified that all the information is correct, we're going to click yes to continue.
On the repository screen, this is where we tell OnDemand Migrator where to find the bulk enrollment token. You're going to either want to download this information locally to the device you're migrating or put it on a share that's accessible by all devices that need to be migrated. Next, we will download the device agent. This is an MSI file that can be deployed however you deploy package software, but we'll cover this in another video.
After we have the agent installed, we're going to click Next. And Finish or Run. Configuration is now complete, and you're ready to start migrating devices. This concludes our demonstration on Entra Device Migration. Thanks for watching, and have a great day.
