StoragePoint Adapters
StoragePoint Adapters are add-on plug-ins that allow StoragePoint
to externalize SharePoint content BLOBs to specific on-premises and cloud-based
storage platforms.
Generic FileSystem
The FileSystem adapter ships with the base StoragePoint product. It can be used with any direct-attached or network-addressable storage platform that can be exposed to windows through NTFS, CIFS, or NFS shares.
EMC Atmos
This adapter can be used to externalize SharePoint content BLOBs to Atmos on-premise, Atmos onLine, AT&T Synaptac SaaS, and EMC Elastic Cloud Storage (formerly ViPR). It leverages an optimized REST interface for optimal performance and takes full advantage of Atmos' policy-based storage capabilities by pushing SharePoint metadata along with the BLOB.
EMC Centera
This adapter can be used to externalize SharePoint content BLOBs to EMC Centera. It leverages an optimized RPC interface for optimal performance and can promote SharePoint Information Management Expiration policies to Centera in the form of a retention policy.
EMC Isilon
This adapter leverages a combination of CIFS and REST interfaces to externalize, read, and manage files on an EMC Isilon device. It integrates directly with Isilon SmartLock to apply data retention to your SharePoint content, allowing you to meet regulatory compliance requirements for data preservation.
EMC Data Domain
This adapter leverages an optimized interface to store, read, and update content on EMC Data Domain. StoragePoint provides the ability to set a fixed retention period to content that is moved to the device.
Hitachi HCP
Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) is a distributed object store that provides advanced storage and data management capabilities to help you address challenges posed by ever-growing volumes of unstructured data. You can divide a single Content Platform into multiple virtual object stores, secure access to each and uniquely configure them for particular workloads.
Windows Azure
This adapter can be used to externalize SharePoint content BLOBs to the Windows Azure BLOB Storage service. It leverages an optimized REST interface for optimal performance.
Amazon S3
This adapter can be used to externalize SharePoint content BLOBs to Amazon S3's Cloud Storage service. It leverages an optimized REST interface for optimal performance.
Rackspace Cloud Files
This adapter can be used to externalize SharePoint content BLOBs to Rackspace's Cloud File Storage service. It leverages an optimized REST interface for optimal performance.
Dell DX600 and Carringo CAStor
This adapter can be used for the Dell DX line of servers and other CAS devices running the Carringo CAStor storage operating system.
IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM)
IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager adapter utilizes integrated REST calls for optimum and secure externalization of SharePoint BLOBs. BLOBs will be securely added and retained in Tivoli’s archive storage pool.
IBM COS S3 (formerly Cleversafe)
IBM Cloud Object Storage (COS) provides secure storage in the cloud, on-premise, or hybrid. The StoragePoint adapter uses the Amazon S3 API to perform all operations.
