Foglight for Azure SQL

Your Azure SQL environment continues to grow and you’re working harder than ever to improve Azure SQL performance. But you can’t fix what you can’t see. Once an Azure SQL performance problem occurs, you’re already in reactive mode, spending time fixing issues instead of innovating and preventing problems. But what if you had a better Azure SQL performance management tool with built-in tools to help you be more proactive and find causes of problems faster?

Foglight supports monitoring Azure SQL Managed Instances, Single Databases, and Elastic Pools, and the databases in each pool, so that performance or availability issues due to resource consumption or workload volumes anywhere in your Azure SQL do not go undetected. If problems do arise, the information available in Foglight will help lead your team to a resolution as quickly as possible so repeating problems can be mitigated.

Azure SQL Managed Instances are monitored by Foglight for SQL Server, and the optional Performance Investigator for SQL Server provides deep workload analytic tools that further assist database managers and application teams in locating root causes of issues and suggest recommended remediation.

Azure SQL Elastic Pools and Elastic Pool Databases, as well as Single Databases, are monitored by Foglight for Azure SQL.  Again, the optional Performance Investigator can assist in analyzing the workloads running on each of those environments where it is deemed helpful.

User Level Access provides a layer of security and convenience by indicating for specific users or groups which Azure SQL connections, database and Elastic Pools they should be able to view within Foglight.
