Predict and Manage Cloud Costs with Quest® Foglight® Evolve

Hello. My name is Luke Vinton. I am a sales engineer here with data protection at Quest. Today, we're going to talk about Cost Director, and specifically cloud cost. So compared to on-premise, On-premise, you have to fill out kind of a questionnaire about your environment. Cloud cost, we pull in these prices directly from the subscriptions that you have in either Azure and AWS. So yes, you could go there to get this data. But we actually do a little bit more to aggregate it. You can see our overview. I could see in this demo environment both Azure. We don't have any VMs in AWS. But if I did, you could our see them right here. Let's go into Azure because that's where we have a couple of VMs and we have a little more complex data. You could see all of the subscriptions that you have, and also the actual spending amounts. And you'll notice here we are in January. We do predictive analysis into the future. We forecast the cost based off historical consumption. So you could see here in August, we use the buttons, we move some VMs around, really minimizing the amount of cloud usage. And we've predicted that out into the future. So we can help the customer figure out if they're going to need anything, or what they're going to need in the future in terms of budgeting for cloud costs. And you could see the breakdown of costs that we give and the amount of subscriptions that the customer may have. And again, this is just very nice because it's more insight into the customer's cloud costing data. And we bundle it neatly in the Overview section of both on-premise cost and cloud costs. So a customer can run here. And again, all of this data from Cost Director can be transformed into reports that can be emailed out to whomever on a schedule that you choose.
