Hello. My name is Robert Pound, a product technologist from Dell Software. In this video, I'll be discussing backup and restore procedures for Toad Intelligence Central Server.
On screen, I have the backup and restore procedures from the Toad Intelligence Central Server maintenance guide. In both cases, the procedures are similar. First, stopping all processes for the Toad Intelligence Central Server. Then locating the Toad Intelligence Central Server data folder, copying the contents to or from the folder, and then restarting the processes.
The location of the folder is in the guide, as well. The default location is here. Your location may be different depending on where you've installed the software.
You have many options when backing up or restoring your data, including Dell's own NetVault Backup Suite. However, for this procedure, I will simply use a batch script from Windows. I have run the backup earlier. Now I will modify my Toad Intelligence Central Server environment by deleting a couple of files and a data set, as well as deleting a user along with all their content.
I will next run this batch script, which stops all services for Toad Intelligence Central Server, declares a destination and source for the backup, uses Robocopy, or Robust Copy, which is part of the Windows environment, to copy all information from the backup to the Toad Intelligence Central Server data file, and then start up all processes again.
I will now open up Toad Intelligence Central Server to see that we've actually backed up and restored our system. Our files are back. And are users are back, as well.
