Hi. My name is Chad Lindley. I'm a product manager with Dell Software. And today, we're going to discuss Smart Collections, which is an exciting new feature in Migrator for Notes to Exchange. Previously, when you wanted to create collections of users for migration, you could do so by either importing a list, or doing a search of our database to get a specific department that you wanted to migrate at a certain time. But really, when you're doing a migration, the way to minimize the impact to the organization is to make sure you're migrating users together that tend to work together-- so those that share data, those that have delegation relationships.
And until now, there really wasn't a way to gather that information and create collections. However, we've added the smart collections feature. And as you open up the smart collections, it will generate a list. It goes through and gathers all the relationship information, gathers the ACLs from within the Notes environment. And it basically recommends to you some collections you may want to use. These are ones that are based on relationships set up between the various mailboxes within Notes.
Now, depending on how big your environment is and how many users you want to migrate at the time, what our migration windows look like, you may need to adjust the maximum size of these. So there's a scroll bar that will allow you to change how many will be included in the max collection size. So let's say, for this example, we wanted to have 10. So we knew we could migrate 10 users at a time, and that's how many we wanted to do. It automatically adjusts and creates a number of collections that you want.
And it gives you a little bit of a preview based on the names in here of who's going to be included in each of the collections. And when you have it set the way you want, you just say Save. And these are basically created as collections that can be edited, can be modified if you want. So if you decided you wanted to change this one-- let's say we wanted to change the name of this one. We could go in here, change the name, and just have it be available for you for the migration.
So now, we have collections created that are based on the relationships. And we can go forward with our migration from here using these Smart collections, and know that we're going to be minimizing the impact to our end users as part of our migration process. So this is one of the great new features added in version 4.11 of Migrator for Notes to Exchange. And we hope that it helps simplify your migration process. Thanks for watching.
