Hello. My name is Robert Pound, a product technologist for the Toad Business Intelligence Suite. In this video, I will discuss the three most important reasons Toad Data Point will give you the power to do more with your data.
First, Toad Data Point gives users a single tool to work with. In many environments, users need to access siloed data using a variety of tools in order to have a complete picture of their data. Toad Data Point offers nearly limitless connectivity allowing your organization to work with all of its data from a single tool.
With the ability to perform cross queries, you can easily integrate sources across multiple platforms in a single pane of glass. Here, I have a SQL fact table connected to both Oracle and SQL dimensional tables.
The database diagrammer gives you a clear picture of your data and its dependencies. For instance, I can select a single Salesforce table and send it to the database diagrammer. This will pull in all the level one dependencies for that table so I can make smarter queries when accessing the Salesforce data.
The second way Toad Data Point allows you to do more with your data is with the built-in automation to improve productivity. If you work with data, you encounter routine tasks such as refreshing data sets, executing scripts, sending out email updates, or importing data. With Toad Data Point, you can handle all these tasks allowing you to focus on your data.
Finally, the third way Toad Data Point empowers its users is to simplify query development and data integration. With the Visual Query Builder, you can utilize drag and drop technology to help you reduce the need for expert SQL skills. Here, I can create a query by simply dragging in a table to this canvas and selecting items that I want to view. This will generate a SQL query that will run when executed.
You can quickly perform data manipulation tasks and easily transform, cleanse, and format your data from your desktop. In this example, I will use the results from a previous query, right click on that data set, and send to Transform and Cleanse. With local storage, you have the ability to work with data offline minimizing the impact on production systems.
