How to publish Data Point artifacts to Toad Intelligence Central

Hello, I'm Sreevani Abbaraju. I'm a product specialist in the Toad Business Intelligence Product Management group for Dell Software. One of the very important features that comes with Toad Data Point 3.5 release is the ability to collaborate around Data Point artifacts. All the files that you generate using Toad Data Point can now be published on to Toad Intelligence Central. If you assign appropriate privileges, you can now collaborate around those files and artifacts within your teams. For example, if somebody spent hours and hours building a Query Builder-- for demonstrative purposes I've selected a simple one-- but if somebody spent a lot of time building a complex query attaching different conditions, sub-queries, et cetera, and now you want to share this with another group or with another team member who want to re-purpose it for another project, you can improve the efficiency by just sharing this files on Toad Intelligence Central by clicking Publish File. Automatically named with query builder 1, but you can also change it based on your version. This is the one I share, I can share it. Select the Intelligence Central Server that needs to be published on. Select the folder this file needs to go to. Publish type is automatically selected for you. You can select the name and you can attach how would you want to manage this. You can either overwrite it or you can just create a new file yourself. Next, most important activity is for you to assign privileges. Who can see this, who can manage this? You have 3 choices. You can either keep it private, so only you will be able to access it. You can make it a public data set by sharing this data with any user. And you can also assign specific users that can access and manage this data set. I'm just going to keep it private for this example. Click Apply, click Publish. It will go through the publishing activity trying to connect to that Intelligence Central and transfer this query builder file and then comes up with a dialog box that this file was successfully published. You can click OK. Same concept with editor files. If you went through a SQL editor and typed up a good 10 feet long SQL script-- we see that quite often-- then you can repurpose it, you can collaborate around that file using Toad Intelligence Central. One click, Publish File. Same thing, select the server it needs to go to, select the folder, select name, how you want to manage it, who can view it. Same thing with Toad transformation and cleansing. If you had written a complex transformation using our built in functions, [? attic ?] calculator columns, lots of filters, et cetera, you can now hit Publish and share that transformation. So your coworker can validate it for you. Do not have to have email copies floating around, that's a very inefficient way to collaborate. Same thing with automation. Your DBA knows exactly what automation scripts are running on the source systems to evaluate any performance problems. Visualization, literally any artifacts that Toad Data Point did generate, you can now publish to Toad Intelligence Central. This feature was introduced to improve collaboration within your teams and make you more efficient.
